Membership Information

A list of member benefits is given in the 'Join Us' section above.

Please see below a summary of our membership policies and subscription rates:

New Members

For new members we have a rolling renewal that gives you between 11 and 12 months membership from date of joining. For example new members joining during May will receive membership through to the end of the following April. Renewal will be for a further period of 12 months. Renewal reminders are issued in the magazine inside the address slip. A backstop reminder is issued by email to those who do not renew promptly. Please do respond to these reminders or you will risk losing your magazine, access to the website, and your original membership number.

Existing Members

Due to historic reasons for many members the membership year is from 1 July to 30 June. Renewal reminders are issued in the June magazine inside the address slip.  A backstop reminder is issed by email to those who do not renew promptly. Please respond to these reminders or you will risk losing your magazine, access to the website, and your original membership number.

Rolling Renewals

Since 2015 members who have joined as new members (or have re-joined after a break) will have a membership year that runs between 11 and 12 months from the date of joining or re-joining. Renewal will be for a further period of 12 months. Renewal reminders are issued in the magazine inside the address slip. A backstop reminder is issed by email to those who do not renew promptly. Please do respond to these reminders or you will risk losing your magazine, access to the website, and your original membership number.

Subscription Rates

Increased Rates from 1st June 2024 are Standard £46 and Joint £47.
Membership Subscription rates @ 2024 are:

  • Standard Rate £46
  • Joint Rate £47 - Up to 2 members sharing ownership who provide a single postal address.(please note that with joint members, both are members with voting rights and need to provide information for GDPR purposes.  Joint members receive a copy of the magazine to share)

Overseas Postage

The monthly magazine with its articles and advice, is a major feature of Club membership but regrettably, overseas postage costs of the monthly magazine mean that it is necessary to charge members living overseas an additional fee towards the extra costs of postage.

The additional fees towards postage costs for overseas members are:
◦ Europe outside GB and NI standard postage add £15 (International Standard postage to Europe and Eire* is Airmail).
◦ Outside Europe (World Zones 1 & 2) International Economy (surface mail) add £15 to subscription, OR
◦ Outside Europe (World Zones 1 & 2) International Standard (Airmail) add £25 to subscription rate
* Ireland - please note that for postal purposes the Republic of Ireland (Eire) is classed as Europe and the cost of mail to Eire is substantially higher than that to NI.

For overseas members where postal services are unreliable, it is possible to opt not to receive the magazine, in which case only the normal membership fees are charged

Lapsed Members

Unlike other clubs ATDC does not charge a joining fee for new members.

Current members who have lapsed (not renewed within 2 months of their subscription expiring) may re-join within 12 months of their expiry and will be issued with a new membership number. During this 12 months they may opt to pay a re-joining fee of £10 to retain their previous membership number.  Unfortunately old  membership numbers are not recoverable by re-joining members after this 12 month period.

Please ensure you renew promptly and do not ignore the reminders in the magazine and via email.
