Hi All,

FAQs has the answer!!!

It adds a bit more to Bill's post by suggesting an alternative  to SAE 40 - an oil suitable for use with bronze bearings.
Also do not use anything labelled Hypoid.

Use SAE140 for the rear axle.  Also make sure you DO NOT use EP oil in the rear axle.

First join the Austin 10 Drivers Club, get the monthly magazine and host of other facilities including access to the full forum.

Next purchase Stanton Abbey book of the Austin 10, often come up on fleabay, it will tell you all you need to know about your new purchase.

Morris's SAE40 engine oil works well for the the engine and gearbox, not sure about the rear axle, should know but have forgotten.

Good luck with the motor.
