Thank you Peter. The engine and I presume gearbox as it is a four speed with synchromesh on 2nd 3rd & 4th gears is fitted to my 1933 10/4 chrome rad.
There can be benefits of having a later engine in an earlier car - my chrome rad has a Cambridge engine with a downdraught carburettor which - 45 years ago - made it fly. But the modification requires the earlier bell housing to be fitted as the engine mountings are different.

Engines can be replaced so the No. does not indicate the age or model of the car. That said an engine No 126919 if the original in the car implies a 10hp Cambridge of 1936. Chassis/Body No. (identical on the Cambridge but with diff. prefix) ) would be a slightly lower No. than that on the engine.
Can anyone tell me what model engine number IG126919 would have been fitted to please?
