Thanks for replying, can I just do the nearside casing and leave the main rear axle in place, or do you have to remove the rear axle from the car and split both sides . I did see the castled nut but hoped the unit would come off in one piece. Thanks

Hi I need to replace the nearside half shaft on the austin 12,I have undone all bolts on the flange and removed the keyway/breather ,the casing is loose but will not remove from the main casing, is there anything else ive missed. thanks

Hi thanks for replying. Once I posted i realised the error in the test. The distributor is a DJ6a which explains the different points and rotor arm to a DJ6. Hi i am having problems getting a spark on my austin 12 1932,it has a dj6 distributor but has dk6 inners, there is power at the points when tested .I think the problem is with the rotor arm and the contacts on the distributor.
