Possible causes:
  • Pedal stuck under footmat
  • Broken return spring
  • linkage needs lubrication - light oil
  • linkage jams on something
  • butterfly in carb sticking
Suggest U get an assistant to move the throttle pedal while you look at the mechanism under the bonnet.

All Cambridge are 2- brush with voltage regulator (in control box). 3-brush went out sometime in 1934 with the 10. D on the control box is correct, the other connection being Ign on the back of the switch

I don't know that but the block pattern does look more "vintage" to me. Also I suspect it is less grippy than the sipes used on the Avons. I believe the Avon design tread is post-war, but again that is hunch rather than knowledge.

The Blockley Tyres are an earlier pattern of tread than suits the Cambridge and may not come in the same size. They look good on the chrome-rad cars.
