Accelerator pedal is sticking full open due to catching on something. Anyone know what is causing this?

Possible causes:

• Pedal stuck under footmat
• Broken return spring
• linkage needs lubrication - light oil
• linkage jams on something
• butterfly in carb sticking

Suggest U get an assistant to move the throttle pedal while you look at the mechanism under the bonnet.

My first check would be to disconnect the linkage from the carb (the little enclosed ball joint) and you can isolate whether it is the pedal end or the carb end!
