Fuel tank sender

Post by Welly » Tue Oct 01, 2024 11:44 am

Hi can anyone tell me if you have to remove the petrol tank on a 1935 austin Litchfield to get to the fuel tank sender unit.
Thanks Chris

Hi Welly, I note you haven’t had a response from the experts yet, but I can say some Austins had an access plate under the back seat, so it may be worth a look!

It may be easier to remove the tank so as to deal with the likely rusted up screws holding the sender unit in place. With the Lichfield you should be able to see it by removing the rear seat cushion and lifting the wood panel beneath. But you may find that the tank and the sender unit are set back underneath the "boot" where the spare wheel lives and so not easily accessible with the tank in situ.
