Petrol cut-offs appear on Vintage Austins such as the Seven and Twelve. The early 7s had gravity feed from the scuttle tank. Bit like a motor mower. The "Heavy 12" had an Autovac, using engine vacuum to draw fuel from the tank, again using gravity for the final feed to the carb. Hence each needed a fuel cut-off valve.

The Ten is a more modern design with a pump operated off the camshaft to lift fuel from the tank to the carb. So does not need a cut-off valve as gravity drains back to the tank when the engine is off.
