BTW why do you need one? They should not wear out.

Good morning
Thanks for your reply. In answer to your question why? I have the engine down on this newly acquired 10 to have new white metal bearings cast and I noticed the camshaft has one or two rough spots on the journals. As the engine is now away I cant check the block so not sure what the camshaft runs in? Are they white metal shells? Any advise welcome

The post 1936 camshafts run on white metal circular bearings. All earlier ones have no bearing so run on the machined holes in the block. I have never seen any significant wear in the block on the earlier engines. I have had difficulty fitting a later camshaft into a earlier block, needing long-winded use of sandpaper to get a reasonable fit, but that was only once.
