Chased up DVLA today re: non-receipt of my V5C after 6 working weeks. They say you should receive it within 3 weeks but allow for 6,but if you do not chase it up within 6 weeks website says will treat it as a "lost" V5 and charge £25.
After usual robot on phone I pressed button for call-me-back. Did not have long to wait. Gave details to Rebecca (very helpful) and got advice that was still with team (no issues though) and to call back in 2 weeks if not arrived.
I know it was Christmas & New Year holiday and nothing is ever done in government service over that time (which is why I left it the full 6-weeks to enquire) but this still seems to me to be rather slow. Perhaps they are all too busy agreeing how the regs and docs should be translated into Welsh.

Re: DVLA
DVLA keep sending me around the buoy again
Latest information from DVLA their response will be not before 23rd February, a minimum of 4 weeks from when they belatedly asked me for more info on 27th January and got an immediate reply online. As the data they asked for was recorded in 1935 on first registration, was on the RF60 buff log books in 1963 and 1975 and was put onto the DVLA computer in the 1980s and is unchanged for 90 years it is difficult to understand why they are querying it now.
So much for the 10 day turnaround promised on the website. Minimum 3 months it will be
Maybe they are trialling IA?
