Hello All. I have been looking at pre-war British cars to buy and have narrowed the choice down to an Austin 10. (Well done I hear you all cry!). I would want it to be in excellent condition and prefer the later shape 1935/36 on and a Cambridge or Sherborne model ideally. I have done some reading on the various models and they do seem to be a reliable and dependable car.
I don't know if the Forum is the place for vehicle sales etc, but if someone knows of a car within the club or can point me to a source, that would be very useful. I did see a number of Austin 10's for sale back in the Autumn but of course i wasn't ready then :| . Now i haven't seen any on the usual websites!
I have worked in the retail motor industry and since early retirement work on pre-war Rolls-Royce cars amongst others. So whilst I am not a novice, I would appreciate any valuable guidance from members on the ownership of these models, maintenance, driving tips etc and what to look for when purchasing. Many thanks in anticipation.
