Good afternoon,
I may be able to help but I’d be very interested to hear the circumstances first I.e. what’s the vehicle, how come it doesn’t have a sump etc?
Regards
Simon

Hi there. The vehicle is a 1932 Austin Light 12/4. It was a basket case - literally. Unfortunately many parts were not salvageable and most of the timber frame was in rotten pieces. Some parts were just not there - sump, shockers, bumper bars etc. I am slowly rebuilding the vehicle but the lack of the sump is holding up reinstallation of the engine which has been fully rebuilt. Any assistance you can give will be appreciated.

I would respectfully suggest that you install the engine anyway , and wait until a sump appears , they are easily fitted from underneath . If no sump appears , get a new sump gasket from the club spares , and perhaps borrow a sump pan as a pattern . Take these to a fabricator and ask him to make you an adequate sump , and never mind much what it looks like . That would get you on the road , and only those pedantic enough to look underneath would be offended by the look of it .

Sorry Bob we’re getting at crossed purposes here, I meant I’m in contact with the original enquirer and have sent the parts required. Apologies for the confusion.

I’m pleased to hear that the parts I sent not only arrived safely but fitted too. It shows the public area is useful.
