UK Registration for South African Car?

I have recently purchase a 1935 Austin 10 Sherborne. The car spent most of its life in South Africa until being returned to England. It still has South African Registration Plates on it. What do I have to do to reregister it so that it is road legal on the UK highway? DVLA doesn't really make it clear...

If it has not been done already you will first need to inform HM Customs & Revenue before it can be registered in the UK.

Once this is done can complete a form V55/5 and send it to DVLA.

Likely you will be seeking an "age-related" registration from DVLA or if you have evidence that the car was previously registered in the UK and want to recover that number you will need to use the form V765 process.
