Chrome rad Ten , 1933 , 2 door 4 seat ( Rare ? ) on Car and Classic auction site ( Google it ) .
Expensive restoration , but doesn't look quite right . Negligable mileage since . Full description and photos . Registration WV 4146 . No bids yet .

This car is not what it claims to be. It is a home-built "Bitza" special using many Cambridge components with a chrome-rad bonnet and radiator shell. Look at that steering column, steering box, Luvax dampers, Girling front brakes and Easiclean wheels. Reference to a new gearbox mounting indicates that the chassis is also from a Cambridge (1936-39), probably shortened. The Reg No. is October 1933 according to Club records but is off another car, which was a four-seat tourer. May be great fun but not valuable or original in any way. Buyer beware.

Interesting Bob,
It does not look right and appears to me to be a Special - not an original Austin model. Has a post 1936 chassis (must be over G90000), axles, wheels, brakes, steering, shockers, a non-original body with non-Austin rad surround, dash, windscreen, wings, bumpers, hood etc with numerous small differences as well. Reg is 1933 but the rest is not. It appears to be a later engine but with the 1933 number? - my eyes probably deceive me.
It does look in wonderful overall condition.
The bonnet itself and the speedo look chromerad Austin 10. (If it has the original engine mountings it would probably be a 'Cambridge era' Colwyn, Open Road or Clifton chassis?) Who knows.

Definitely a bitsa/special, unfortunately someone will likely buy it believing it to be genuine.
Undoubtedly a lot of work and expense has gone into the car but authentic it is not.

Yes , whoever did that job did not have a very good eye at all . Standing at £1500 with five days to go .

Unlikely to hit its Reserve and the owner won't get back much of the money spent with Bob G. Did anyone notice that the "chassis No" on the V5 is the same as the engine No? Deliberate or accidental?
