my 10 is late 1933 it has a X-braced chassis , BUT how do i know if its 12 or 6v please ?
where are the markings to tell me . starter and dynamo, are all I've got and in the car. or is there ab test I can do with a meter ?

once i know what it is then i can order stuff etc

both the Starter motor and the Dynamo should be marked accordingly.
Even if they are rusty, once de-rusted the the impressed markings will be visible.
The chassis number will also be an indicator but I don't have my book available.

The change from 6v to 12v coincided with the change to X-chassis in July '33 @ G21000.
The dashboard & instruments are an easy-to-see indication

6v Ten has wooden dash with Lucas twin switch with ammeter & ignition light combined prominent in centre

12v Ten has metal dash with single switch, ammeter & ignition light separate

I have 3 dashes .2 whith wooden holes for internet's and 1 whith 2 big slots ,,,????
Like I say a box of bits from 3 cars ???
I think is a miss mash !!!

Are thay on the body . So will I'll have to take the mounting of ?

Try the starter motor first, *if its like the later 1930s units*, the Lucas trademark, the Lucas part number number, voltage and direction of rotation ( the last also important if you have a collection of parts which may or may not belong together) are stamped in the housing on the mounting flange side of the pole screws. The lettering is in quite a large font and is well indented, as Stephen says very visible. For the dynamo, the stamping is more towards the commutator (non drive) end of the housing and is close to the inspection windows in the housing.
