1945 Austin 10 GS1 saloon

Post by Stvwebb9@gmail.com » Wed Jan 05, 2022 12:23 pm

I am in the process of restoring this model vehicle and am seeking guidance with the appropriate carburettor. The vehicle came to me partly disassembled but has 2 different Zenith carburettors one appears to have 10 stamped on the side, the other appears to be a 30VM4. Can you please advise which is correct and where I can source an overhaul kit for the correct model.

According to my info from stationary-engine dot co dot uk the 30VM4 is correct, but you will need one with the correct CS (Contract Number) stamped on the top of the float bowl to obtain the correct jetting, unless you want to experiment.
The site itself appears to be defunct, I seem to recall reading somewhere that the principal host of the site had died recently and the site had gone with him?
Hopefully one of the Internet Archive apps may help out.
I found carburettorspecialists dot com a good source of spares and info. His website is a bit of a nightmare to navigate but the man himself is very helpful.
