Leaf springs

Post by Petetherod » Sun Jun 19, 2022 3:48 pm

Hi. I think I need to get my leaf springs refurbished or replaced on my 1933 10/4. Can anyone suggest a suitable supplier? Thanks Pete

I haven't used them but I understand these people are very competent, might be worth contacting them.

Has anyone tried dismantling their springs, wire brushing, then turning each leaf upside down?

Hi Neil,
I have certainly dismantled and wire brushed leaf springs, but always reassembled them the way they came off. I think it would be counter productive to reverse the leaves as they are manufactured with a natural camber. In any case, the main leaf has curled bush housings at each end so there's only one logical way to rebuild the spring.
