I know this is an old chestnut but can anyone agree with me that the correct colour for the engine block (+ cast iron parts) should be Black on a 1935 36 Austin 10/4 Lichfield.
I keep being told that the correct colour is Green as in the BMC A series engine A30/ A35.
If so I have been painting them the wrong colour for years.
I have even seen an Austin 10 engine painted MG Red on display in a local car show this season and was assured that the car was original and had never been touched.
Also the underside of the bonnet should be matt Black and definitely not the outer body colour. The radiator header tank should also be matt black and not polished brass.
