Hi
I use Connolly Hide Food which I was given by a relative in the leather upholstery trade. It works well but best applied in warm weather and left for a few days to soak in.

Re: Leather oil seals
Hi Steve
Go to the members area at the top R/H side and click on the General section. You then have to log in again.
This gets you to the members area of the website which has various sections.
The technical documents that peter mentioned are invaluable pieces of information.

Re: Leather oil seals
Hi Steve The leather oil seals need to be soaked in engine oil for a few days before fitting them to make them easy to fit. The oil seal is clamped between the two sections of the oil flinger. And this is held in place by the castellated nut. Unfortunately I cant attach a picture in this section of ...

Re: Paint Code
Hi
If you take your car or a panel to a good respray firm they can check your paint and either make up some paint to match or tell you the nears black that will match your car. They are now quite accurate.

Re: Valve guide punch
Hi
You may be better off taking the block to a friendly engineering firm and getting them to use a hydraulic press to remove and insert the new guides, its a bit less brutal them using a drift.

Re: Starting engine after rebuild
Hopefully your engine rebuilder has got the valve timing correct. Valve tappet clearances should be set to 6 Thou. Double check your ignition timing has been set correctly, set the ignition to fire on the No.1 cylinder when the piston is at TDC on the ignition stroke. It is quite easy to get this wr...

Re: Cylinder head NUTS Austin TEn gs1 1946
Hi Allen The recommendation is to use a spanner and tighten by hand so you can feel the correct tightness. This is particularly important if you are using the old head studs, which can be easily snapped or pulled out of the block. However if you have put in new studs and are using new nuts and washe...

Hi Brian Yes posting a picture is a fine art on this forum, but once you have mastered it it is fairly straight forward. There is a section on how to post pictures so I wont repeat it here, BUT the picture must be less than about 80 kilobyres or it wont post. I am not sure what the exact figure is b...

Re: Difficult to navigate
Hi Yes you have to log on to the ATDC website and then log on to the Members area, General Area. And I think they have to be different passwords, at least mine are different. Once you have navigated this if you can look at the Website Tab and this has a section that tells you how to post pictures. A...
