Re: 1932 Austin 10 Radiator Fluid Loss

Thanks for the advice Peter and Phil Will give it a flush and see where that leads. My daughter has just flown out of Heathrow back to Oz to the heat with her family after a holiday in Europe and the UK. There was light snow when they left. The Fifth Test in Sydney is at an interesting stage with th...

1932 Austin 10 Radiator Fluid Loss

My radiator is loosing water through the overflow drain pipe. Any suggestions on what the problem is? My thinking is, radiator core blocked. The other question is, should I be using a coolant? Thank you.

1932 Austin 10 - Use of engine coolant

I've been using tap water in the engine cooling system. Are there any benefits/disbenefits in using a green/red coolant? I live in a mild climate in Australia - no freezing temperatures!

Re: 1932 Austin 10 Dynamo Noise

Thanks Peter
Do you know where I can source these little buggers? Has anyone in the club got any old dynamos Lucas C45E Type N9 lying around. I would like to keep original. As Bakelite is non-conductive any thoughts on what else I could use if it's not possible to get the original.

Re: 1932 Austin 10 Dynamo Noise

Hello Peter and all Found out what the noise was. The spring returns on the brushes rest on short metal stem which has a very small slide on bakerlight cover. What actually happened is the bakerlight cover broke into 3 pieces. One piece is still under the spring return and the other 2 pieces were st...

1932 Austin 10 Dynamo Noise

Hello from Australia The dynamo on my 1932 Austin Ten is making a noise. Hard to describe - squeaking, scraping. Not fan belt slippage, definitely the dynamo. The dynamo is, I believe, original. Lucas C45E. Type N9 (not clear). My first thought was that the bushes were worn and scraping on the commu...
