Re: Fuel guage fluid 10/4 1933
You need the ATDC fact sheet #5, which gives some information on the Hobson 'Telegage' system which is what you have. The original red fluid isn't very user friendly (and I would think unobtainable in its original formulation) but the factsheet gives you some alternatives to consider. There is a bit...

Re: 1933 A10 window regulator brake spring
Yes, my regulator is very similar to the one on the Austin Seven Friends website under the post "Droopy Ruby Window". I was donated an early model regulator off an early Ten via the archetypical friend of a friend which was totally different (and had a broken brake spring anyway)I suspect this is li...

Re: 1933 A10 window regulator brake spring
Hi Gary, I know the window regulator brake springs for Austin/Morris 1300 (ADO16) variants are a close enough fit for my late model Goodwood so I suspect that your earlier model car is a totally different pattern? It seems from my limited research that the regulators for most vehicles (not just Aust...

Re: Timing Chain Cover
Thanks for the info Bob, good idea (which never occurred to me) of grafting a suitable platewheel onto the original centre.
No hassles with replicating fastening PCD or hub offsets.

Re: Timing Chain Cover
Bob, the chainwheels you speak of, do they cross over to the 14/6 engine which uses 1F47 (I don't have access to a 10/4 list of Spare Parts). I ask because although I was able to replace the crankshaft sprocket from ATDC spares, I really need to consider replacing the camshaft one too as it is start...

Re: Austin 10 Cambridge oil pressure pipe
Hi Philip, I'm pretty much on the opposite side of the globe to you, but if no-one local comes up with an actual replacement, then I would suggest calling in at your local industrial hydraulic shop and see what they can do. They generally have ample supplies of oil-resistant hose, and there's a good...

Same here Gary. Our UK bros might be too busy out and about enjoying driving their cars after their COVID-19 lockdown was relaxed to come indoors and sit in front of a PC!

Hey Peter, the single rear lamp for the 38 onwards cars is a Lucas ST52/A, I believe. While you don't seem to be able to get an exact replica with the dividing bar across the red lens, the Ford 103E Popular rear lamp E04A-13407 is a reasonable facsimile if anyone is desperate. My 39 Goodwood has one...

Re: Post valve grind discoveries 1933 10/4
Hey Gary, good to hear you're on the road again. Can't say I've ever heard of NGK plugs failing basically straight out of the box, but I have experienced similar issues a few years ago with Motocraft plugs, specifically the (Ford) Cleveland V8 ones. There must've had a bad batch out there, the sympt...

Re: Steering issue
I don't know what the ATDC official recommendation is, but I'm a big fan of brass core plugs sealed with Stag 'B' jointing paste, but Stag 'B' is good for the steel ones too. Even if the seating land in the block/head isn't in good nick, the jointing compound will take care of most minor defects, an...
