Re: Grease nipple thread type
Just noticed a gramma error in my post. Second sentence should read: Driving is so much better!~! Gary. Rod, last warrant I got, two weeks ago, the tech didn't even look at rear suspension movement. Just checked King Pin movement and back wheel movement. But yes everywhere I park mine I get a few by...

Re: Grease nipple thread type
Update. All rear suspension now converted to Silent Bloc from greased pins and bronze bushes. Driving is no much better, no more clunks and bangs when going over bumps etc. Still some noise coming from the front so that will be next. Some observations for the record on doing this change: 1. The forg...

Re: 1932 Austin Ten Saloon Side Mirrors
Dave, if you search on the internet for Desmo mirrors UK you will find a couple of suppliers. Mine are the same as what is on the white A10 on the home page of this website. I also found a suitable and larger interior mirror on same sites. All of Art Deco design which suits the era of our vehicles. ...

Re: Grease nipple thread type
Thanks Rod, never late on this forum!! I meant to also ask if the rear spring eyes are 1" Inside Diameter for both the Nov 1933 X form chassis with tubular cross member UK cars with Silentbloc and for the Export cars with Bronze bearing and greased pin's? I haven't measured mine yet, until I take ou...

Re: Grease nipple thread type
thanks Peter. Sent you an email. I have a design to make a tool to push out the bearings from the springs. I can cut the lip off the bronze top hat bearings no problem. It consist if a long 7/6" HT bolt and nut, a couple of small steel plates, a 1" tube to push on the bearing or silentbloc and a lar...

Re: Grease nipple thread type
Many thanks for the advice and explanation Peter and Peter. I went and checked out the front attachment and as the parts manual and ATDC list there are only 6. My mistake making assumptions! I will need to dismantle again and push out the bronze bushes so I can measure the spring end eye. They seem ...

Re: Grease nipple thread type
Rod, I am not a stickler for originality, as long as the outward apperance is still 1933..! Just to establish my car: late 1933 Chassis number G26821 Criciform chassis with tubular cross member. Lifting then right rear by hand and watching the shackle arrangement it is obvious things are not good. T...

Spring Shackles & Bushes - greased or silentbloc
Doris passed her WOF, NZ equivalent of the UK MOT, yesterday. But driving has revealed loud clunky noises from the rear when going over bumps. After checking other items I am sure it is some or all of the rear spring shackles and bushes. Greasing same did not reduce the Clunking. It is not the frict...

Re: Grease nipple thread type
Thanks Richard and Jasper.
I found a couple on rear springs that won’t let grease through even after I removed and washed them out with petrol.
Need replacing as I think the small ball and spring inside is rusted up.
