Grease nipple thread type

Hi all, my Austin parts list doesn’t describe the thread type for any of the spring or king pin grease nipples.
1933 Austin 10/4. Cross member chassis with cross tube.
Can anyone advise please?
I am assuming BSP … but you never know!

Re: Air Filter 10/4

Hi Jasper. Living in NZ and being a member of the NZ VAR I found the first club run I did with my 1933 A10 was held over what we call shingle or gravel roads. Ie not sealed. So plenty of dust if you are not the first car out.! I then looked into fitting some sort of air filter to my 26VA carb and fo...

Re: 1933 10/4 Brake lights

Jasper, my 1933 10/4 has brake switch and light which is working. My car also has the metal fitment brackets each side of the scuttle to fit Trafficators. Trafficator switch is on the steering column and wiring exists right to each bracket. From the literature I have Trafficators would seem to have ...

Re: 1933 A10 window regulator brake spring

Update on repairing my regulators. Bought a couple of “universal window regulators” from Vintage Car Parts. Far to large to adapt to my doors so cannibalised the dome assembly which has the same brake system. Had to make a small steel bush to push into the regulator frame as the gear pivot is smalle...

Re: 1933 A10 window regulator brake spring

Ha, I am viewing the same Austin Seven Friends web site item as well. Some good information to be found there as a lot of the technology is the same or similar to our Ten's. My regulator has the full circle 360 degree main cog wheel that the actuator arm is attached to. Jim Butterworths 1935 regulat...

Re: 1933 A10 window regulator brake spring

Thanks Rod. I suspect your Goodwood is different to my 1933 model. I know mine is pretty similar up to the Litchfield ( 1935) model like Jim Butterworth’s one. He has some grainy pictures on his website describing his repair for the same problem. I have couple of universal regulators of the same era...

Re: 1933 A10 window regulator brake spring

Thanks Bob. I have found a couple of custom spring winders in NZ, their advertising says they can make any design spring. That will remain to be seen however. I plan to send them the broken one as a pattern, with the dome and some pictures of the whole assembly exploded.
I will report back…..

1933 A10 window regulator brake spring

Hi all, With Doris almost back on the road after her engine repairs ( logged here over preceding months ) and a successful SU HS2 carb upgrade I thought I would take a look at what was causing the front windows to slowly fall when driving. Took the passenger side one apart and removed the domed item...

Re: Assistance activities on the ATDC web site

I am logged in as a Guest. I am a member of the NZ VAR but being retired I cant afford to be a member of the UK ATDC as well since I cant participate on local UK club activities. Peter, the last post from you ( I think ) was "deleted and banned". I assumed at the time it wasn't aimed at me but since...

Assistance activities on the ATDC web site

Hi All,

After I login there doesn't seem to have been any Requests for Club Assistance activities since a Spam Alert from Bob Allison on 2 of May.

Can anyone confirm please.

I am paranoid I am the one banned for some reason
