Re: No spark

Hi Cidermaster, I don't think the test you are carrying out is correct as you would only get a brief but very high voltage which potentially might destroy your testing device. The tester if of the continuity type won't beep as there is no direct contact between the HT lead / rotor arm / distributor ...

Re: Fitting bottom hose on a Sherborne

So is the need for a shield a design fault or is it a case of getting more mileage from a fan belt or would a new fan belt obviate the need for a hose shield?

Re: Roadside assistance

Not as far as I know, but it does have a preferred insurer, - RH insurance whose cover includes breakdown. Whatever you do, don't use Green Flag as apparently they've stopped coming out to cars over 16 years old! Green Flag used to be OK with old cars, I used them years ago a couple of times. Once t...

Hi a40farina,

Secondly if it was running ok before has anything else changed? Something as silly as the fan belt slipping cou...

Re: 12/4 castor angle

I 'd be surprised if you couldn't use those Landrover wedges - I may get some for my 12. Just a couple of comments:- 1. you only need one hole in the wedges and that is in the middle for the end of the bolt that goes through the spring. 2. The sharp end of the wedge always points to the front of the...

Re: Andre Hartford Dampers

Front ones the arms are equal length, on the rear pair one arm is longer that the other.
If you are a club member there is a technical fact sheet about them.

Re: Andre Hartford Dampers

Depending on when in 1935 your Lichfield is manufactured will dictate whether you should have Hartford friction dampers or Luvax rotary hydraulic dampers. My Lichfield is a late '35 manufacture, registered early '36 and has the Luvax. Cars made earlier '35 will have friction Hartfords. The club has ...
