Any knowledge of 1935 Austin 10 Cab-chassis being exported?

Post by plumby » Sun Mar 22, 2020 6:34 am

At a Farm Clearing Sale here in Victoria, Australia a friend has recently bought a possibly rare style of Pick-up or Utility (Ute) which - though derelict - appears to have a professionally made "King-cab" style of steel body.
It is car Number 71675 which dates it to late August 1935 in the list of running changes. I have several photos of the car, but do not see any means of posting them.

Between the wars Austins were exported to Oz as knocked down kit chassis and local bodies built on them, notably by Holden. This means that there are some interesting bodies on them that are different from the ones seen over here.

Thanks for that confirmation of what we (the owner and I) had thought, as to the type of body and cab this Utility has.
