Hello can anyone tell me any history regarding Reg no YBG 204

Welcome to the forum.
BG was a registration for Birkenhead starting with ABG in 1949. It does not go beyond VBG. So YBG is a DVLA allocated number to provide an authentic looking old-style registration to a car whose original registration has lost or sold as a personal plate. Makes a nice change from the usual unallocated Scottish numbers.
According to DVLA car reg no YBG 204 is a maroon Austin of 1125cc first registered in April 1943 currently on SORN, but if this is your car you will know that
These sparse details indicate it is likely to be a wide-bodied chrome-rad Austin 10. For once DVLA have the engine cc right!
It does not appear on the Club database under that reg no. If you can message me the chassis No, Car No and engine No I may be able to find it listed under its old reg No. if it was previously known to the Club. The chassis No prefixed G and the Car No prefixed GRA will be on little plates riveted to a panel near the battery box under the LH bonnet, unless they have been lost. Chassis No is stamped into the top of the chassis arm left hand front side near where the fuel pump is on the engine, but usually difficult to read due to paint and/or rust. Engine No is stamped on the LH side of the engine on a flat part of the block casting. Early engines had it low down later ones near the top of the side of the block. Engines might be changed but a surprising number of cars still have their original one. Engine No prefix is 1G
