Austin Ten Drivers’ Club National Rally
With anti-Covid restrictions preventing an event in 2020 the Rally was postponed a year but held at the planned venue the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) Cirencester.
Great To Be Back!
The weekend was an opportunity to get together with fellow Austineers, friends who had not met for many months, and the opportunity to make new friends.
Usual Range of Activities
At the front of the very impressive main building we had a large area for display of our vehicles and erection of tents and marquee for stalls.
Driving Tests had a Road Safety slant, rather than speed and manoeuvrability, and caught out those who had not consulted their Highway Code recently.
Saturday was the opportunity to explore the area and take part in either the Scatter Run or the Scenic run in the car, or join a guided walk around Cirencester.
Sunday included Pride of Ownership judging. In the marquee there was a Ukulele Band, ATDC Bring & Buy spares, Vintage clothing stall, a selection of costume jewellery, and the Tombola Stall. In the university buildings two classes on “How to make paper flowers” and Genealogy were run, for those who fancied getting away from Austins for awhile.
Evening Meals were available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and included a live band The Heartbeats on Saturday with dancing.
