The annual National event of the Club moves around the country to different locations and venues. It provides members with a superb forum to meet old friends, make new ones, chat, compare cars, buy parts and regalia, do silly things like tyre-rolling, or just have a drink and some food in good company. Emphasis is on being there and having a good time. If your Austin is not running someone might even lend you one to use.
Organised activities may vary from year to year. The driving part of our title is emphasised at the National by activities such as:-
- Scatter Run treasure hunt - park up at selected venues and walkabout to find the answers
- Scenic Runs
- Driving Tests - fun with a little skill
- Long-Distance prizes
Pride of Ownership awards for smart looking and original vehicles is organised in classes according to h.p type and style of the car - plus a Previous Winners class.
Challenge Trophy for those who combine a good Pride of Ownership score with a good driving test result.
Regional Events
Local events are organised by ATDC members and other car clubs for the enjoyment of all who wish to participate. Events are organised throughout the year. Austins can be driven anytime, anywhere. Maybe just a drive through attractive countryside to a lunch venue or possibly a more challenging navigation test.
Every few years Isle of Wight Austins provide a combined taste of going overseas as well as back to the past - each event unique and exciting. You just have to be there!
Various types of rallies are held as individual events as well as regular annual outings. Visits to places of interest such as museums and steam railways are not to be missed and small "at home" gatherings are also much enjoyed.
