ATDC Fun Driving Event "Gymkhana"
Sunday 23rd August - near Bury St Edmunds
What is it? - Under Motor Sport UK regs. a Gymkhana is a light hearted, mildly competitive recreational driving event consisting of a series of fun games and tests using skill not speed. There must not be more timed tests than untimed ones. So not as described in Wikipedia!
It is being organised by ATDC member and regional representative for Essex (NE) as the ATDC event in the Inter-Register annual series. Contact details on page 32 of the Magazine and also on the entry form, linked at bottom of this page.
Who can enter? - Any member of one of the clubs that make up the Inter-Register. ATDC is one. Taking part in a pre-war vehicle. Car must be roadworthy, and insured. Most specialist insurers such as Howden include cover for off-highway events such as this one.
You do not have to have an RS Clubman licence (issued free by Motor Sport UK) for this event. Ordinary driving licence is OK
Where is it? - Whepstead IP29 4TE. Full address and directions will be issued with final instructions.
Tea / Coffee at 10am. Event starts at 11am. Bring a picnic lunch.
