National Rally 2027 - Ludlow

25 - 27 June 2027

Next year’s ATDC National Rally 2027 will be held at Ludlow Rugby Club from Friday 25th - Sunday 27th June 2027.

We have exclusive use of the clubhouse and grounds for the whole weekend, with members welcome to arrive at the site from 1pm on Friday.

There is plenty to see and do in Ludlow and the surrounding area, and there are excellent opportunities to take to the local roads in our Austins and see some of the sights of Shropshire. Members can look forward to a weekend of interesting cars, good conversation, challenges, fun, and a chance to meet up with old friends and new. You can also expect one or two surprises over the weekend...

While the finer details are still being worked through, highlights of the weekend will include a scatter run, a drive out, a driving test (with a twist!) and the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for Ludlow Castle (pre-booked tickets only).

Accommodation

Ludlow has a variety of accommodation available to book, including hotels, bed and breakfasts and self-catering establishments. Early booking is strongly advised, and it is worth noting that some websites such as booking.com and AirBnB may offer free cancellation up to quite near your date of travel. If travelling with close friends or family, you might perhaps consider booking a self-catering property in order to reduce the cost per person. Accommodation options outside central Ludlow may also be an affordable option.

A list of suggested accommodation can be found HERE.

The site, consisting of two rugby pitches as well as other outside spaces, offers plenty of room for those wishing to camp, or to bring their caravans, camper vans or mobile homes. While there are no electrical hook-ups or facilities to dispose of chemical toilet waste, we will have 24-hour access to toilets and shower facilities in the clubhouse.

Catering

We have secured the services of the Shed Catering Company to provide meals for us during the weekend. There will be an informal cold buffet Friday evening, and a 2-course meal with tea and coffee on Saturday evening. A picnic lunch is also available to pre-order for Sunday lunchtime. Please note that all meals will need to be pre-booked. As usual, details of menu choices will be included on the entry form. Menus will also be available on the National Rally page on the website in due course. ATDC will provide tea and coffee throughout the weekend in return for donations.

The Rugby Club bar will also be open at key times during the weekend, and breakfast baps will be available on Saturday and Sunday morning for those who wish to pre-order.

AGM

Following discussions at the ATDC AGM in 2025 and 2026, a decision has been made to hold the 2027 AGM at 10am on the Saturday morning of the National Rally. Refreshments will be provided, with small donations welcomed.

Key Dates

Registration will open online at 9am on Monday 5th October 2026 and close at midnight on Sunday 23rd May 2027. All catering choices, pre-booked activities and advance payments must be received by the stated closing date.

This year, we are opening registration earlier than in previous years, in the hope that early booking will help with planning, keeping costs down and organising activities and catering.

Volunteering

The ATDC annual National Rally simply would not take place without the support of our members who give up their time to help with the event each year. If you are able to help during the weekend in any way (no matter how small), we would be very pleased to hear from you, particularly if you are local to Ludlow and the surrounding areas.

Judging and Awards

Judging at the 2027 National Rally will be a relaxed and informal affair, while still providing a fitting end to what is hoped will be an enjoyable weekend. As in previous years, there will be awards given for distance travelled, most catastrophic breakdown, Gary Ward Memorial Shield for the scatter run, and the Regional and Everyday Shields.

Next year also sees the return of the ‘Best Dressed’ awards, and a new ‘Guest’s Choice’ award. Rally attendees will also have the opportunity to vote on their favourite ‘Non-Austin’ car.

The full list of awards are:

  • Regional Shield (Public Vote)
  • Best Non Austin (Public Vote)
  • Long Distance Award (UK)
  • Gary Ward Memorial Shield (Scatter Run)
  • Long Distance Award (Overseas)
  • Best Dressed Man
  • Worst Breakdown
  • Best Dressed Lady
  • Everyday Shield
  • Guest's Choice Award

There will also be prizes given for other activities, including the driving test mentioned above – further details to follow.

Supporting a Local Charity

Holding the 2027 National Rally in Ludlow provides us with an opportunity for local residents to come and see our amazing cars. It also gives us, as a Club, the opportunity to support a local charity.  Further details will follow in the new year – members can rest assured that this support will be provided in full accordance with the relevant Articles.

Further Information

Further information on the National Rally 2027 will be provided in the club magazine, on the website and on Facebook pages in the new year and beyond

All members are warmly invited to attend the National Rally. If you are a new member, or indeed joined the Club some time ago but have never been to a National Rally, and would like to find out more, please do get in touch with us.
