Magazine Delivery Delay
Members are reporting non-arrival of their December magazine. This problem appears to be nation wide as reports have come in from Kent, Hants, Somerset, Warks, Wilts and Scotland & Wales. The magazine has been printed and despatched via postal mail as usual. We very much regret the delay and any inconvenience to members but delivery is no longer in the hands of ATDC or Honycomb Print. We can only ask you to be patient.
Mail Strikes
The delay cannot with certainty be pinned down to a specific cause. But delays in mail delivery have been atributed by the Royal Mail as due to the one-day strikes through November and December and the likely backlogs of undilivered mail.
Royal Mail Priorities for Delivery
Priority has been given to Special Delivery and Tracked Parcels, Covid test kits and medical prescriptions, by Royal Mail. Their letter to customers recommends posting by 12th December for Christmas - or about 10 days in transit for standard letters and mail.
Piles of Mail in Open
Local news in Bristol alleges that unsorted mail is being left out for the foxes https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/royal-mail-parcels-letters-piling-7911797 But don't worry - it may only be the flyers and promotional mail - that is to say spam - that Royal Mail is contracted to deliver to a wastebasket near you
